Brianna Rodriguez
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERN, THE CONNECTICUT PROJECT
Brianna is the Marketing and Communications Intern at The Connecticut Project. In this role, she helps amplify the organization's message across its issue areas, with a particular focus on affordability challenges facing Connecticut residents. Through storytelling, content creation, photography, and social media strategy, she works to elevate community voices and connect personal experiences to broader conversations on affordability and policy. Brianna is passionate about shaping narratives that not only inform people about the issues impacting their lives, but also inspire civic participation, community engagement, and collective action.
Prior to her role as the Marketing and Communications Intern, Brianna was the Canvass Lead for the New Britain Action Team. As a Canvass Lead, she ensured her team achieved engagement and outreach goals, as well as provided guidance to team members on effective communication strategies to motivate Connecticut residents to take action on issues affecting their communities. Through both her organizing and communications work, Brianna is committed to helping people see the power of their own stories and their ability to create meaningful change together.
Why do you do “the work?”
I do this work because I want to expand the ways in which people connect with one another. I think during times of uncertainty and chaos, people can forget how connected they really are. I want to remind people of how important it is to use our differences and unique experiences to change the things that impact us all.
What are some specific places or things you love in Connecticut?
I love a Connecticut summer, especially going on drives with my sister and being able to enjoy nature. One of my favorite summer activities is going to Hammonasset Beach State Park and staying until the sun sets, followed by a trip to HK Dairy Barn in Higganum, CT for some ice cream!
