Tell Governor Lamont to Sign the Affordable Housing Bill

Rent is too high, and buying a home is unaffordable. The Connecticut legislature just passed a bill that starts to make housing more affordable, but Governor Lamont is considering vetoing it.

Tell Governor Lamont to sign H.B. 5002.

This bill is about respecting working class and middle class people.

It takes some steps toward making housing costs more fair for working people. It lets towns determine how many affordable housing units they can reasonably build, enables towns to be more creative with safely converting commercial space into housing, and allows pilot programs to enable hardworking people to avoid long waitlists for housing help.

The bottom line? This bill keeps Connecticut’s town-by-town character while giving working class and middle class people a better chance at not being priced out.

Yes!  I want to tell Governor Lamont to sign this bill.
