Tell the State to Do More on SNAP!
For tens of thousands of people in Connecticut, groceries are now a luxury. More than 32,000 residents, including 19,000 children, have lost SNAP because of federal cuts and changes. Our state has started to act, but Connecticut can and should do more.
The State of Connecticut is distributing around 25,000 one-time, $300 electronic grocery cards to people who have lost SNAP because of federal work requirements.
But people are getting left behind. Groceries are expensive, and $300 won’t go far. More people are going to lose SNAP, and more than 25,000 people have lost SNAP already.
Our lawmakers need to listen to the people they represent and stay accountable. Your voice helps keep the issues that affect us at the forefront of decisions that will shape our state’s future.

Groceries are expensive, and $300 will not last long. More Connecticut residents will continue to lose SNAP, and more than 25,000 people have lost SNAP already.
Groceries shouldn’t be a luxury. Connecticut has the resources to do more, and we should. Connecticut should follow the lead of other states by creating a state-run transitional SNAP benefits program to ensure people who are losing SNAP have at least a temporary safety net when they lose their food.
