Statewide Polling Shows CT Voters Willing to Support Adjusting Fiscal Rules
Voters generally unaware of state's fiscal rules, and willing to support modifying them after more information
In a poll of 612 Connecticut voters, conducted by Breakthrough Campaigns from January 8 - 13, 2025 online and via text, voters were generally unaware of the state's fiscal rules but willing to support modifying them after receiving more information.
At the outset, a majority (51%) of Connecticut voters say they “don’t know” when asked if they support the fiscal rules. After receiving some context about what the fiscal rules are and how they will impact the state budget, voters are evenly split on whether or not they should be modified, but after just a few supporter messaging frames, those in favor of changing the fiscal rules jump up to 71% of voters.
